San Felipe Olive Co. began in 2007 with the acquisition of 130 acres in the upper San Felipe Valley in eastern San Diego County. This property, known as Rancho San Felipe, is blessed with clean dry air, pure mountain aquifers, and deep DG loam soil. Right away we knew the olive tree was going to love it here.

So, in the spring of 2008, after taming the wild land, we planted our first trees to test all the elements. And guess what, it was as we thought and the trees thrived. With that success, we prepared three more acres and planted 660 olive trees, equally divided between Arbequina, Koroneiki, and the Italian varieties of Frantoio, Casaliva and some Pendolino. We had our first small olive harvest in the fall of 2009.

Along with our own brand of Extra Virgin Olive Oils, we supply bulk olive oil, olives, trees, as well as, orchard planting and management. From our experience in making our own olive oil, we developed the Bear Paw "CUB" Olive Oil Press. This olive oil press will allow the small producer and home olive oil enthusiast the ability to produce their own Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
